Now there are even more reasons to switch to Calor LPG
With fuel prices increasing and greater sensitivity to environmental issues, more and more businesses, in non-mains gas areas, are turning to Calor LPG. Rising energy prices, increased overheads and more stringent legislation had become a real issue for the Gilsland Spa Hotel. Calor's independent energy consultants undertook a comprehensive energy survey on behalf of the Carbon Trust to identify where energy savings could be made. With LPG already the preferred fuel for catering, they suggested the switch from oil to LPG for heating and water heating. The hotel's change from oil to LPG has resulted in significant benefits in several areas, including reduction of estimated boiler maintenance from £25,000 to £5,000 per annum. |

"By introducing the energy efficiency measures, primary fuel use reductions of over 6,350 per annum have been estimated along with potential to save 116 tonnes of CO2 per annum."
Ray Boughen of Gilsland Spa Hotel Take a look at the facts and make up your own mind. - Oil tanks have to be paid for outright by the customer. However, with LPG tanks customers only have to pay a contribution, which means LPG installation costs are generally lower than oil
- LPG emits 11.7% less carbon dioxide per kWh than heating oil1
- Oil boilers emit a higher level of nitrogen oxide, a particularly harmful greenhouse gas2
- A leak of LPG vapour is unlikely to pose any significant ground or water pollution hazard
- Calor retains ownership of the bulk tank and takes responsibility for its maintenance
- LPG can be used alongside renewable technologies, reducing running costs and carbon emissions further
- The Think Tank® automatically monitors LPG levels so you should never run out*
- Storage options for LPG are flexible and include underground tanks so that only the tank lid is visible
- Versatility means LPG can be used commercially for heating, water heating and catering with real and controllable flames
- Calor have their own specialist customer engineering and installation organisation which means they can offer the complete solution
- Calor have just reduced their prices for ipa members by 0.02p per litre.
*Only available for certain tank sizes
